The Nuclear Competitions Birkenhead Sunday League in association with Macron Sports continued with Premier Division action, where Fender followed up their opening-day success with a clinical 2-0 victory against reigning champions Dock. Goals from Ben Kearney and Billy Beasley did the damage, whilst a resolute Fender defence ensured a second consecutive clean sheet and victory.

Queens Park also maintained their perfect start, edging Rock Ferry Social in a seven-goal thriller. Joel Whalley registered a brace, with Lucas Hogan and Connor Rowland also finding the net for Queens Park. Despite a superb hat-trick from Keegan Warrington, Rock Ferry ultimately left empty-handed.

A late intervention saw the spoils shared between Bidston and Beechwood. Dega Taylor had put Bidston ahead, but a late equaliser from Ryan Duffy ensured Beechwood claimed a point. Meanwhile, Oxton Celtic bounced back from their opening-day defeat, securing a narrow 1-0 win over Rig Move courtesy of a Dan McLoughlin strike.

Lancelyn recorded their first points of the campaign with a 2-0 win over Wellington, thanks to goals from Dan Dixon and Dan Hoban. Woodchurch also got their season up and running on the road, grinding out a hard-earned 1-0 victory at Cheshire Cheese via a crucial Will Fraser goal.

In the Championship, Heather Brow took maximum points away at Corsair. A captain’s performance from man-of-the-match Fenton Cavanagh laid the foundations, while a Jack Carter brace and a Ben O’Neil strike sealed the win. Jack Byrne provided the solitary response for Corsair.

Despite goals from Sonny Croft and Ryan Mason, The Dell fell to a 4-2 defeat against Hooton VH. Ross Meadows led the way for the home side with a brace, supplemented by goals from Sonny Ward and Zak Catesby.

An entertaining encounter between Seamus O’Donnells and Shaftes ended in a 3-3 draw featuring six different goalscorers. Joel Harper, Lincoln Fehily, and Carl Hamm all found the net for Seamus O’Donnells, but Shafts also netted three from Owen Warrington, Joel Brown, and Paul Anglesey.

Neston Nomads made it two wins from two with a comprehensive 5-2 victory over Wirral Hundred. Louie Westhead took the plaudits with a hat-trick, supported by strikes from Aaron Hughes and Rhys Navis. Kieran Holsgrove scored both goals for Wirral Hundred.

League One action saw Lions secure an emphatic 6-1 victory against Parkgate St Germain. Last season’s top scorer Matt Lydiate continued last season’s form with a hat-trick, while Mike Williams, Conor Eagan, and Lewis McKnight added to the scoreline. Ethan Davies converted a consolation goal for Parkgate St Germain.

Eastham Rangers earned a 2-0 win over Heswall FC thanks to goals from James Pimblett and Harry Huggins, while a Will O’Leary penalty was enough to grant Upton Town (pictured) a narrow 1-0 victory against Lottie Dod.

Glenavon Athletic recovered from their previous defeat by securing a 3-1 away win at Upton Grange FC. Brandon Scott and Ryan Sides found the net alongside an own goal, while Omar Hoyle responded for Upton Grange FC. Elsewhere, Oldershaw FC and AFC Raeburn fought out a goalless draw.

In League Two, Saughall FC moved to the top of the table after a 2-1 victory against West Kirby Wasps. Andy Noonan and Tom Ashcroft scored for the early leaders, while Ben Travis replied for West Kirby Wasps.

AFC Tima sit closely behind in second place following a 4-2 win against New Brighton Tower, inspired by a Grant Reay hat-trick and a further strike from Ussumane Jalo. New Brighton Tower replied through Ben Garnell and Ged McDonough.

Sutton Rangers secured a narrow 2-1 victory over MSC Eastham with goals from David Fenwick and Owen Harris. Jack Roberts scored the lone response for MSC Eastham. Finally, Lighthouse produced a strong attacking display to defeat New Brighton Rakers 5-2. A Joe Deakin brace, alongside goals from Declan Cleary, Jack Lloyd, and Abdessamad Errouichi, sealed the points, while Stephen Kennedy and Alan Teece responded for New Brighton Rakers
