The hosts caught the title holders cold by racing into an early two-goal lead, leaving the visitors with too heavy a mountain to climb. A Morgan Woods brace and a Jack McGrotty effort did the damage, rendering subsequent responses from Peter Morgan and Jack Darlington mere consolations as the holders failed to recover from the early setback.

Nuclear Competitions in association with Macron Sports Birkenhead Sunday League action continued with Bidston emphatically brushing aside their recent poor form, returning from Rig Move with all three points following a resounding 5-0 win. Kian Hamm took the headlines with a superb four-goal haul, while Dillon Upton-Climo supplemented the scoring.

Elsewhere, Woodchurch Hotel enjoyed a successful away day at Lancelyn, cruising to a 4-1 victory. Jordan Deer netted twice alongside goals from Dan Pickavance and Ben Ryan, while Josh Ross scored for the hosts.

Queens Park kept up the pressure on early pace-setters Fender FC by securing a routine 3-0 home win over Rock Ferry Social. Joel Whaley, Connor Rowland and Jamie Leyland all found the net.

Meanwhile, Wellington marched to a 4-1 victory against Oxton Celtic courtesy of strikes from Nathan Leyland, Dil Thomas, Jack Maybury, and George McMillan. Casey Ford provided the lone response for Oxton Celtic.

David Tacey Cup action dominated the remainder of the fixture list, highlighted by a 3-3 thriller between Parkgate St Germain and Hooton. Will Williamson’s brace and an Ieuan Hughes goal for Parkgate St Germain were cancelled out by a Lewis McKeown effort and two unfortunate own goals for Hooton. Parkgate St Germain ultimately held their nerve to progress 5-4 on penalties.

The afternoon’s highest-scoring encounter saw Owen Hollywood bag four goals for Upton Grange yet still finish on the losing side. New Ferry Rangers hammered home seven goals to win a spectacular match, with Joel Spain and George Simon scoring two apiece, alongside singles from Fin Weir, Luke Burns, and Andrew Fitzgerald. Omar Hoyle was also on target for Upton Grange.

Corsair secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory against Heather Brow, responding to Ellis Platt’s goal with strikes from Shaun Cherera, Jedda Bayley and Tim Davies.

In another close battle, Higher Bebington Kelma edged out Shaftesbury 3-2. Danny Richman, Joe Baty and Liam Atherton did the damage, while Lewis Hayes and Joel Brown replied for Shaftesbury.

Connor Egan and an own goal completed the scoring, while Harry Nicholas struck twice for Ridgewood. Meanwhile, a Hayden Gardener double and a Ross Rule strike guided Woodchurch Rovers to a comfortable 3-0 win over Glenavon Athletic.

Three cup ties required a penalty shootout lottery after deadlocks could not be broken. AFC Tima and The Dell shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, with Declan Wray and Ussumane Jalo scoring for Tima, while Darryl Hellon bagged both for Dell, before The Dell triumphed 6-5 on penalties.

It was an identical story for Heswall and Sutton Rangers after a 1-1 draw—Jack Roberts and David Fenwick exchanging goals—before Sutton sealed a 6-5 shootout win. Meanwhile, Eastham Rangers and Lottie Dod played out a rare 0-0 stalemate, with Eastham Rangers showing the greater composure from twelve yards to progress 4-2 on penalties.

Lukes put in a commanding performance to beat Whistle FC 4-1, driven by a Corey Wilson brace and further goals from Corey More and Charlie Hawkins, with Fikky Balogun responding.

West Kirby Wasps edged out Wirral Hundred in a five-goal thriller, securing a narrow 3-2 win through James Corcoran, Hadyn Roberts, and Paddy Lawler, despite replies from Jake Towse and Toby Jones.

Upton Town booked their place in the third round with a 4-1 victory over Saughall FC, led by a Glen Craze brace and goals from Will O’Leary and Tim Ward, while Andy Noonan scored for Saughall FC.

Finally, New Brighton Rakers put on a clinical display to defeat Lighthouse FC 5-1. Jay Ryder, Nathan Bennett-Anderson, Jason Stephens, Joel Hunter and an own goal capped off a dominant performance, while Charlie Youlton scored the lone consolation for Lighthouse FC.
